Hawaii - Oahu, Maui, the Big Island, and the other Hawiian islands Oahu - The Island of Oahu is a special place within the Hawaiian Islands. Her warm friendly people, breath-taking natural beauty and unique Hawaiian culture are part of what draws people to the island. Surf the waves, appreciate the arts, sway with hula dancers, tantalize your senses with local cuisine, dance the night scene or embrace under a waterfall. Discover Oahu, the heart of Hawaii's ultimate experiences. Read more on the state website >>>
Maui- Black Rock Beach is excellent for beginning snorkelers and swimmers to experienced SCUBA divers. Coral and tropical fish are abundant. This is the northernmost section of Kaanapali Beach. From here there is easy access to beachfront hotels, shopping and restaurants. Maui has the reputation of being on the high end of tourist destinations in the Hawaiian Islands with the most expensive hotels and condos, although Alaska Airlines and others offer great discounted vacation packages. The Big Island - Big Island has a wide variety of plant, marine and animal life. Many species are rare and endangered including the giant Pacific Green Sea Turtle (which can grow to 400 pounds), the Nene Goose (the official state bird) and the Humpback Whale (the official state marine mammal). The big tourist hotels are located on the north end of the island along the Kona coast, which is of course famous for it's coffee. Mauna Lani and Waikoloa Beach are the top tourist areas on the Big Island. Vegetation zones include: coastal, dryland forest, mixed open forest, rain forest, subalpine and alpine. Fishermen love the Big Island of Hawaii for first-rate big-game fishing vacations with fantastic, reasonably priced golf courses as a side attraction.
